Vehicles in German Town Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Report

Authorities reported they were alerted by a individual who found a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Around fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Cars, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Officers report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.

The liquid had been drawn in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.

Officers then found many other vandalized cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Police report preliminary tests show the substance was likely blood from a person.

"There is still no clue as to its source; officials are presently not aware of any harm in association with the incident," they added.

City officials announced they were working "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the public for details.

A high-ranking official said the incident left him speechless and needed to be addressed quickly.

"This event affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on online, referring to the murder of nine victims by a assailant targeting people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
