I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.

Former two-time unified boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really happening.
