One 60-day journey through the Australian Coast is being halted following the tragic passing of an elderly woman who was stranded by the vessel on a distant coastal location.

The elderly woman had been walking on the remote island with fellow passengers from the cruise ship, but parted ways from the party for a pause. The liner left without her and came back after some time after the crew discovered the woman was missing.

A large-scale hunt discovered her body the next day.

Officials are examining the tragedy, in coordination with investigators and the state coroner.

Head of the voyage organizer stated that passengers and crew on the ship were told that the remainder of the journey had been called off due to the "sad loss and prior mechanical issues".

Through an announcement, he mentioned that travelers would be given a full refund, and said the company was working "to coordinate the travel back of the passengers via private aircraft".

"According to scant facts we have been told, it seems that there was a breakdown of attention and basic judgment," she mentioned.
